Club President 2024

Bishops Stortford Bowling Club (BSBC) is a thriving club with over 130 members.  We have wonderful facilities within Bishops Stortford, a fantastic Grass Green, complemented by an artificial green for use in the winter and by beginners, as well as a fantastic clubhouse and bar.  The club is very friendly and we welcome all players from complete beginners to the highly competitive levels. We have inhouse coaches to help new players, or help iron out problems that more experience players may be experiencing.  Come and join us and have a great time.  During the Winter months alongside our all weather green we have a great social programme.

The Bowling Club is very well established, it was founded in 1903 after the tennis courts behind the Maltings in Hockerill Street were converted into a bowling green. Hertfordshire formed their County Association in 1920 with BSBC joining in 1934. Since then Club members have made valuable contributions (including Presidents) to the County Association and also been well represented on the East Area Committee.  In 2008 the Bowls club moved to our new site off Beldams Lane. Click on the "History" tab if you would like to see more.)

Our facilities include: 7 rink grass green (April - September),7 rink all weather green used regularly throughout the winter . Well-appointed pavilion, spacious changing rooms, licensed bar, well-equipped kitchen and ample parking.

We have a First Aid station and an a Defibrillator.
